Hepplewhite-Style Inlaid Mahogany Display Cabinet, 20th C, Lighted
A Hepplewhite-style mahogany display cabinet dating to the early–mid 20th century, featuring elegant satinwood inlaid trim, astragal-glazed doors, and 1" tapered legs. The piece includes two dovetail drawers (with later replacement handles) and retains its working key. Inside, the cabinet has after-market velvet lining and after-market interior lighting, showcasing two fixed glass shelves that provide approximately 11", 12", and 13" of vertical display height.
With its refined neoclassical proportions, warm mahogany finish, and tall glazed presentation area, this cabinet offers both decorative appeal and functional versatility. A well-designed revival example ideal for displaying porcelain, glassware, or collectibles.
CONDITION
Fair condition with scratches, scuffing, and finish wear throughout. Fully functional and tested. Previous restorations noted. Left door shows two visible joint separations, and the top is separating slightly from the cabinet. Glass panels are not original, and drawer hardware has been replaced. Three bulbs are burned out. Interior velvet lining and lighting are after-market additions. Structural integrity remains sound despite age-related imperfections.
