Cielito Lindo Estudio Tin “Amor a la Mexicana” Hand-Painted Wall Diorama
A vibrant handcrafted tin wall hanging from Cielito Lindo Estudio of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. This piece, titled “Amor a la Mexicana,” represents a known model produced by the studio, celebrated for its expressive Mexican folk art and Día de los Muertos themes. The hand-painted tin frame features a bold sunburst crest and sculpted chili pepper, surrounding a charming diorama with two skeletal figures in traditional attire set against a scenic printed backdrop. These works are created individually in the CLE workshop, where artisans cut, shape, hammer, and paint each tin piece by hand—resulting in natural variations that enhance its character.
Cielito Lindo Estudio has crafted folk art since the 1980s, with many designs produced in small batches for export and collectors worldwide. This example is a distinctive, colorful representation of their whimsical narrative shadowbox style.
CONDITION
In good condition with no noted damage. Light surface wear and minor paint variations are consistent with hand-painted, hand-crafted folk art, and do not diminish its presentation.
