This four-piece Russian matryoshka set offers a lively and educational tour through 20th-century political history, featuring Vladimir Lenin, Leonid Brezhnev, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Boris Yeltsin in chronological and ascending size. Each doll is hand-painted in expressive caricature style, reflecting the satirical folk-art tradition popular during Russia’s late-Soviet and early post-Soviet years.

The largest doll is marked “Президент,” the Russian word for “President,” written in Cyrillic (Президент → Preh-zee-DENT). This label connects the set to the political transitions surrounding the early Russian Federation and the era when political matryoshkas became global cultural icons.

CONDITION
In good condition with visible signs of age. Paint chips are present throughout, and the largest doll (Yeltsin) has several indentations on the head.
