Flow Blue “Fan” Wash Set by Petrus Regout + Vintage Bird & Flower Vase

A visually appealing mixed-era trio of decorative ceramics offered together as one lot. Included is a 19th-century flow blue pitcher and wash bowl by Petrus Regout & Co. of Maastricht, paired with a vintage late-20th-century ceramic vase decorated with birds and flowering branches.

The flow blue pitcher and bowl feature the “Fan” pattern, an Orientalist/Japonisme-inspired motif popular in Victorian interiors. Both pieces display crisp cobalt transfer decoration softened by the characteristic “flow,” with fans, parasols, and stylized ornament forming elegant vignettes. Each is maker marked beneath with the blue FAN stamp and the impressed diamond-shaped R, a known Petrus Regout mark used throughout the mid–late 1800s. The rounded pitcher with its sculpted handle pairs beautifully with the wide, deep bowl, making a classic washstand set that presents well in both traditional and eclectic displays.

Complementing the antique set is a charming ceramic vase from the late 1970s/early 1980s, finished in an ivory crackle glaze. The front features two long-tailed paradise birds perched among blooming branches, hand-painted in layered blues, greens, and warm red accents. This piece adds a decorative lift and a touch of colorful vintage character to the grouping.

Condition:
All pieces show age-appropriate wear. The pitcher exhibits overall crazing and an old, tight hairline at the rim. The bowl shows light interior wear and typical period crazing. The vase features intentional crackle throughout and a small manufacturer’s defect as shown; no cracks or repairs noted. All pieces present attractively.
