Early 20th C. Oak & Steel Baker’s Rack on Casters – 5-Tier Industrial
This early 20th-century oak and steel baker’s rack offers an evocative look into America’s industrial food-production era. Constructed with a solid hardwood ladder-style frame and five fixed wooden shelves. Originally designed for cooling and staging baked goods, its dish-style steel casters and simple, functional joinery match surviving examples from working bakeries and commercial kitchens, where mobility and durability were essential.
Today, its warm patina and authentic industrial presence make it ideal for display, retail merchandising, kitchens, studios, or decorative storage.
CONDITION
In good antique condition with age-appropriate wear to wood and steel. The frame is wobbly from long-term use but remains fully functional. Wood surfaces show marks, darkening, and variations typical of commercial bakery equipment of this era. Steel casters display oxidation yet roll as intended. Please review photos to assess specific wear.
