2018 JCH Figure Sculpture — Steel & Copper w/ Rain-Cloud Motifs, 66 1/2"
Hand-crafted and signed J C H, this striking mixed-metal figure sculpture stands an impressive 66 1/2 inches tall and blends industrial materials with Southwestern, Pueblo-inspired symbolism. The circular copper head features cutout facial details along with Hopi-style rain-cloud motifs, while additional copper elements—including a set of hammered feathers—accent the steel body. Sculpted steel hands extend forward from the torso, and the entire form rises from a welded steel base stamped 2018.
Weighing approximately 30 lbs, the sculpture includes a pair of steel ground pins for secure outdoor installation. The richly oxidized surfaces and layered patinas give the piece a compelling presence, making it suitable for garden display, courtyard spaces, or contemporary Southwestern art settings. A distinctive example of regional metalwork that merges traditional motifs with bold modern craftsmanship.
Condition
