Desert Light in Art Glass — Oak-Framed Cactus & Yucca Wall Pair

Pair of circular stained glass wall plaques, each framed in solid oak and depicting vivid desert landscapes. One features a towering saguaro cactus beneath a copper-toned sky; the other presents a sculptural yucca plant with long, pointed leaves and a tall bloom stalk — two enduring icons of the American Southwest.

The yucca, known as the “tree of life” among desert peoples, has long symbolized strength and endurance. Its fibers once provided cord and cloth, its roots used for soap, and its creamy white flowers offered food and medicine. Combined with the resilience of the saguaro, these motifs capture the ingenuity and beauty of desert ecology. Crafted in luminous glass hues of amber, turquoise, and sand, the pair glows warmly in any light, evoking sunlit mesas and desert dawns.

Unmarked and likely late 20th century, these handmade plaques blend artistry and regional storytelling — ideal for rustic, Southwestern, or mid-century interiors.
