Condition
Good condition overall. Exhibits a small 1/16" chip on the rim and light shelf wear on the base. No structural cracks or repairs observed. The etched designs and coloration remain crisp and well-defined.

Michael and Robin Romero (Acoma Pueblo, New Mexico) are a husband-and-wife team of traditional Acoma potters known for their finely detailed sgraffito and etched designs. Both artists were born and raised at Acoma and learned pottery techniques from family members, combining ancestral hand-coiling methods with modern precision.
Their works frequently feature traditional motifs such as kachina figures, hummingbirds, floral patterns, and geometric bands symbolizing rain, lightning, and fertility. The Romeros are recognized for their exceptional craftsmanship and balanced use of natural slips in red, white, and black, which give each piece depth and texture. Their pottery is highly regarded among collectors of contemporary Pueblo art and is represented in numerous private collections across the United States. Each piece is typically signed “M.R. Romero / Acoma Pueblo / NM.”
