Dina Johnson Navajo Hand-Coiled Sgraffito Pottery — 6" Desert Geometry
Beautiful hand-coiled and hand-painted Navajo pottery jar signed Dina J (Dina Johnson) on the underside. Crafted using the traditional sgraffito technique, the piece features intricate etched geometric and wave motifs in terracotta, turquoise, deep green, and sky-blue hues. These patterns—representing the natural landscape and cultural symbolism of the Southwest—are characteristic of Johnson’s distinctive style.
Dina Johnson (born 1972, Kiyaa’ní or “Towering House” Clan) is a contemporary Navajo potter known for her finely detailed etched designs and vibrant color palettes. Trained by fellow potter Dennis Charlie, her work merges traditional hand-coiled pottery methods with modern artistic flair, celebrating Navajo heritage through precise craftsmanship and color harmony.
