Description

Gibbard Solid Walnut Drop-Leaf Tea Cart w/ Tray, c.1950s – Canada

Elegant solid walnut drop-leaf tea cart featuring a removable glass serving tray, two fixed lower shelves (each approx. 7.5" high), and a single dovetailed drawer for storage. The design combines function and style, with graceful turned supports, scrollwork accents, and two large wooden wheels paired with two small brass casters for easy movement. Its warm walnut finish and balanced proportions make it an attractive and versatile serving or accent piece for the home.

Maker-marked by Gibbard Furniture Shops, Napanee, Ontario, this mid-20th-century cart reflects the firm’s dedication to craftsmanship and enduring quality. Gibbard, established in 1835 and long regarded as one of Canada’s premier furniture manufacturers, was known for its solid wood construction and refined detailing—a legacy visible in this finely made example.

Condition
