Paul McCobb Planner Group Maple Side Table for Winchendon
A mid-century modern side table or nightstand designed by Paul McCobb for Winchendon Furniture Company, from the acclaimed Planner Group series, circa 1950s. Crafted in solid maple with a warm natural finish, the table features a rectangular top, single drawer with brass knob, tapered legs, and a lower open shelf for storage or display. The underside bears the stamped signature “Paul McCobb / Planner Group / Winchendon.”
The Planner Group—introduced in 1949—embodied McCobb’s belief in accessible modern design through simplicity, function, and proportion. Produced by Winchendon in Massachusetts, the line brought clean, modular modernism into the post-war American home and remains a cornerstone of mid-century design collecting.

Condition
Excellent condition. Maple retains an even tone and smooth surface with minimal wear. Drawer operates smoothly; structure is sturdy and well-fitted.
