Paris Ramsès Uranium Glass Lady Powder Box – Art Deco, Paris–New York
Elegant Art Deco uranium glass powder box, marked “Paris Ramsès – New York” on the base. This rare vanity piece features a hexagonal form with frosted panels of relief nude figures and a graceful draped-lady finial forming the lid handle. The satin-green glass emits a vivid glow under UV light, typical of uranium (vaseline) glass from the 1920s–1930s.
The Ramsès line originated in Paris circa 1919 and was later marketed in New York by Le Blume Import Co., representing a trans-Atlantic collaboration between French Art Deco design and American luxury export. An exceptional collectible for glass, Deco, and vanity enthusiasts alike, admired for its sculptural elegance and historical allure.
Condition
In good overall condition with minor rim imperfections and small surface marks consistent with age. Interior shows approximately 0.25″ rust stains and light residue as pictured. No chips, cracks, or repairs observed. Displays beautifully under UV light.
Dimensions
4″ H × 3 ⅞″ W × 3 ⅞″ D
Examples of marked “Paris Ramsès – New York” uranium glass vanity boxes are documented in Art Deco collector archives and online reference databases, typically dating to circa 1928–1935. This model—with the flowing-robe nude finial—is among the more desirable Ramsès variants.
A refined and glowing centerpiece for any Art Deco or uranium glass collection.
