Description

(10) Anchor Hocking Block Optic Uranium Glass Sherbets – 4.75"

Set of ten vintage Anchor Hocking “Block Optic” uranium glass sherbets, produced circa 1929–1933. This iconic Depression-era pattern features the geometric block design that gives the glass its striking optical effect. Each sherbet exhibits the characteristic green hue that glows a vivid fluorescent color under ultraviolet light, confirming its authentic uranium glass composition.

Standing approximately 4.75 inches tall and 3.75 inches in diameter, these stemmed coupes were designed for serving desserts, fruit, or champagne. Their refined Art Deco styling and luminous presence make them a centerpiece addition to any Depression-glass or uranium-glass collection.

Condition

Good overall vintage condition. Two stems show small rim chips as indicated in the photos; the remaining eight are free of damage beyond light surface wear consistent with age and gentle use. All pieces display beautifully and glow brightly under UV light.

Dimensions

  • Height: 4.75 inches
  • Diameter: 3.75 inches
  • Quantity: 10 sherbets

Produced by the Hocking Glass Company (later Anchor Hocking) between 1929 and 1933, the Block Optic pattern remains one of the most collectible Depression-glass designs. Its structured block motif, elegant form, and uranium glow embody the artistry of early 20th-century American pressed glass.
