Description

(12) Anchor Hocking Block Optic Uranium Glass Plates – 6.25"

Set of twelve vintage Anchor Hocking “Block Optic” uranium (vaseline) glass plates, dating to the late 1920s–1930s. These smaller plates feature the signature geometric block-patterned surface characteristic of Hocking’s celebrated Block Optic line, prized for its crisp Art Deco symmetry and luminous green hue. Under ultraviolet light, the glass fluoresces a bright neon green, confirming its authentic uranium content.

Each plate measures approximately 6.25 inches in diameter and 0.5 inch in height, the ideal size for bread, dessert, or small luncheon service. Elegant, collectible, and display-worthy, these plates exemplify the refined pressed-glass artistry of America’s Depression-era design.

Condition

Good overall condition with light signs of use. Surfaces show minimal utensil marks consistent with gentle age and handling. No chips, cracks, or structural damage noted. All plates glow vividly under blacklight.

Dimensions

  • Diameter: 6.25 inches
  • Height: 0.5 inch
  • Quantity: 12 plates

Produced circa 1929–1933, the Block Optic line by Hocking Glass Co. (later Anchor Hocking) remains one of the most sought-after uranium glass patterns. Sets in complete service sizes are increasingly scarce, especially in such clean condition. A radiant addition to any Depression-glass or uranium-glass collection.
