Van Briggle Triple Bud Vase — Black Crystalline Glaze, Signed Hand Thrown
Striking Van Briggle Pottery triple bud vase, hand-thrown and glazed in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This elegant sculptural form features three conjoined bulbous bases rising into tall, asymmetrical necks with flared rims. Finished in a dramatic black crystalline glaze with silvery speckling and subtle white drip effects, the piece displays exceptional craftsmanship and balance.
The vase is signed and marked on the underside with the Van Briggle hallmark, “Colo. Spgs.” and artist initials DM. A superb example of the studio’s later work, it reflects the fusion of Art Nouveau form with mid-century experimentation — a true statement piece for collectors of American art pottery.
Condition
Excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The surface glaze remains glossy and even throughout, showing minimal wear. Base signatures are clear and well-defined.
