Vintage Tortilladora (Primitive Hand Made Wood Tortilla Press
A vintage hand-crafted wooden tortilladora (tortilla press) featuring solid hardwood construction and early iron hardware. This traditional kitchen tool was designed to flatten masa into tortillas, operated by a long wooden lever and hinged plates. Its primitive joinery, forged fittings, and visible tool marks speak to authentic, utilitarian craftsmanship of rural kitchens in Mexico and the American Southwest.
Rich with patina and character, this piece represents both cultural heritage and functional folk design. A character filled addition to any collection of culinary antiques, ethnographic tools, or rustic kitchen décor.
Condition
Good, showing age-appropriate wear. The wood exhibits surface abrasions, small losses, and cracks consistent with age and use. Iron fittings show oxidation and pitting but remain secure. Structurally sound with a warm, timeworn surface.
