Nordic “Nipple-Tip” Wooden Skis with Leather Bindings, c.1915–1930
A beautifully aged pair of early 20th-century Nordic wooden skis, distinguished by their slender nipple-tip profile and original leather strap bindings. Handcrafted from solid ash, they exemplify the practical elegance of Scandinavian ski-making in the early 20th century — when craftsmanship met the growing romance of alpine exploration. Their straight sides, squared tails, and warm natural patina reflect both simplicity of form and endurance of material.
Today, these skis make a striking decorative statement — equally at home in a Ruidoso cabin or Cloudcroft chalet. Their sculptural lines, soft toning, and tactile authenticity lend texture and quiet history to any mountain interior.
Condition:
Good, with age-consistent surface wear and toning. Leather bindings are worn and dry but present; wood shows marks and small abrasions commensurate with use and age. Overall stable and display-ready.
Dimensions:
70 3/4" x 2 3/4"
Life-size Bob Ross cutout (6'2") shown for scale.
