Hand-carved and hand-painted wooden totem pole depicting The Legend of Mankind, crafted by Ray Moore for Alaska Black Diamond, Ketchikan, Alaska. This piece illustrates the Raven—the great bird who released humankind from a clam shell, as described in the included story card. Finely detailed with layered relief carving, polychrome accents in black, red, turquoise, and ivory, and a burnished natural wood finish.
The base bears the official Made in Alaska insignia and is signed “Ray Moore”. A distinctive example of Alaska Black Diamond’s workshop artistry, blending traditional Northwest Coast storytelling with contemporary craftsmanship. A superb display piece and collectible representation of regional Alaskan carving traditions.
