Fratelli Mari Deruta Hand-Painted Italian Majolica Lamp — Umbrian Craftsmanship
This exceptional ceramic lamp originates from the historic Umbrian town of Deruta, Italy, a center celebrated since the Renaissance for its tin-glazed earthenware, or majolica. The piece is signed on the underside by Fratelli Mari, a distinguished family workshop officially founded in 1932 and regarded as one of Deruta’s most respected producers. The Mari family’s pottery heritage extends through generations, preserving traditional methods of hand-painting and glazing that define the region’s artistry.
The lamp features elegant scrolling vine motifs and stylized floral patterns in cobalt blue, deep green, and warm terracotta tones on a creamy white ground. A bold checkerboard band at the neck adds balance and refinement. Its gently rounded, vase-like form recalls classical Italian albarelli, while the neutral linen shade softens the bold ceramic base for a timeless, versatile aesthetic.
Condition:
Excellent. No visible damage to the ceramic or the shade. The glaze remains vibrant and smooth, with crisp hand-painted detailing. Electrical components appear intact and functional.

Overall: 20" H x 15.12" Diameter
