1960s Magnavox Stereo Console – Tambour Doors, Fully Functional
Beautiful Magnavox Model 1P3717 stereo console, crafted in Fort Wayne, Indiana, circa 1968–1969. This fine example features the company’s renowned Micromatic record changer, integrated AM/FM stereo tuner, and dual internal speakers housed in a furniture-grade cabinet with tambour doors and ornate Gothic-style grille panels. The piece sits on casters for easy mobility and showcases Magnavox’s “GREN” green-toned finish—typical of the brand’s late-1960s Astro-Sonic series.
The interior reveals the original AM/FM chassis (CHAS 15), full schematic diagram, and factory labels intact. The record player and radio are fully functional and tested, delivering the rich, warm analog sound that made Magnavox consoles famous. The cabinet design blends vintage charm with practical usability, making it equally suitable as a retro showpiece or daily player.
A desirable and well-preserved vintage hi-fi system—ideal for collectors, decorators, and analog audio enthusiasts alike.
Condition
In good condition, functional and tested. Shows finish wear, scuffing, and age-appropriate surface wear throughout, with minor finish loss along edges and base. Cabinet remains sturdy, with intact grille fabric and working tambour doors. Electronics perform well—records sound great. The record changer function is untested.
