Pedler Company Bb Clarinet with Vandoren B45 Mouthpiece
Vintage Pedler Bb clarinet, made by The Pedler Company of Elkhart, Indiana, serial number W2938, circa late 1940s–early 1950s. Crafted from dark grenadilla wood with nickel-plated keys and ring fittings, this example bears the firm’s oval lyre hallmark and “THE PEDLER CO. / ELKHART IND.” stamp. The clarinet includes a modern Vandoren Paris B45 mouthpiece with a Vandoren “88” ligature, offering a balanced and responsive setup prized by professional players.
Housed in its original vintage brown hard case lined in deep red velvet. A fine collectible example of mid-century American woodwind craftsmanship, equally suited for restoration, performance, or display.
Condition:
In good overall vintage condition, with surface wear, tarnish to the keywork, and aged corks consistent with use and age. No visible cracks in the body. Keys move freely; pads may require replacement for optimal playability. Case shows cosmetic wear but remains solid. Mouthpiece and ligature are in excellent condition.
