American Oak Round Pedestal Dining Set, c. 1900 – Table with Four Chairs
An solid early 20th-century American oak round pedestal dining table with four matching side chairs. The table features a 52-inch solid oak top with finely carved geometric apron detailing, supported by a robust turned pedestal and four scrolled legs on brass casters. The chairs complement the design with shaped back splats and square seats, displaying the same warm oak tone and craftsmanship. This set reflects the transitional style between late Victorian and early Arts & Crafts furniture, crafted circa 1900–1915, and demonstrates the durability and beauty of quarter-sawn oak. Its sturdy construction and balanced proportions make it a timeless centerpiece for a traditional or farmhouse-inspired dining space.
Condition:
Sturdy. Good condition overall, showing age-appropriate wear and signs of prior restoration. The chairs display scratches throughout, one with a noticeable chip, and there are minor chips to the legs of the table. Light scuffing and surface scratches are present from use, and some evidence of touch-up work is visible. The finish remains attractive, and the set is structurally sound and ready for use. Chairs have some visible glue from previous restoration attempts.
