Description

19th-Century Eastlake Pine Chest of Drawers, 43" Wide

Late 19th-century Eastlake-style chest of drawers crafted from solid pine, featuring four graduated drawers with dovetail construction and oval brass pulls. The upper drawer displays a stylized incised floral motif characteristic of the Eastlake aesthetic, emphasizing linear ornamentation and hand-carved detail. The warm amber-toned finish and clean architectural lines highlight the movement’s departure from earlier Victorian excess.

The chest shows fine period craftsmanship with plank back panels and solid construction. Likely American, circa 1875–1890, and restored at a later date while retaining much of its original character. A handsome example of late 19th-century Eastlake furniture, ideal for use or display in a traditional or farmhouse-inspired setting.

Condition

Good overall condition with aged restoration. Surface wear, finish rubbing, and light marks consistent with age. Minor base losses and plank separations noted. The top exhibits light ghosting under reflective light. Structurally stable with smooth drawer operation.

Dimensions: 36" H x 43" W x 20" D
