Antique Quarter Sawn Oak Secretary Bookcase with Beveled Mirror
An early 20th-century quarter sawn oak secretary bookcase featuring rich grain patterns and graceful, carved cresting with a beveled glass mirror. The piece combines solids and veneers, with a bow front glass door opening to four adjustable shelves, ideal for display or storage. The right side features a drop-front writing surface revealing five fitted compartments above three tongue-and-groove drawers. Original wood casters provide mobility, while brass keyholes and turned knobs complete the period styling.
A fine example of Edwardian-era craftsmanship, blending decorative appeal with functional design—perfect as a statement accent or working home office piece.
Condition:
Good overall condition, showing scuffing, fading, and finish wear consistent with age. Light wear to reflective surface of mirror. No key present; escutcheon absent on drop front. Knobs missing from top drawer. Structural integrity remains sound, with original casters intact and appropriate signs of use throughout.
Dimensions:
- Height: 72.5 inches
- Width: 34.25 inches
- Depth: 11.5 inches
