Description

David K. John Handpainted Navajo Pottery Mask – Feathers, Wall Mountable

Signed David K. John (b. 1963), this finely crafted handpainted ceramic mask represents the artist’s contemporary interpretation of traditional Navajo spiritual imagery. Rendered in geometric fields of ochre, sage, and turquoise with black and silver outlines, the mask displays John’s distinctive modernist approach to Yei and Yeibichai themes. A natural feather accent crowns the piece, and a twisted wire on the reverse allows for easy wall display.

David K. John is a noted Navajo (Diné) artist educated at the Institute of American Indian Arts and Southern Utah University, recognized for blending ancestral symbolism with contemporary aesthetics. His ceramic masks have appeared in numerous Native art galleries and regional auctions, and this compact example captures the essence of his balanced form and color sense.

Condition:

Good condition, with no visible damage or repairs. The handpainted surface is clean and vibrant, and feather embellishment remains intact. Ready for wall display.

Dimensions:
