(2) Hanselmann Pottery Soup Bowls with Handles — Earth-Tone Stoneware, Signed HP
Pair of signed Hanselmann Pottery handled soup bowls, hand-thrown in high-fired stoneware and finished in the studio’s signature multi-tone glaze. The interiors feature concentric throwing rings with a spiral center, highlighting the maker’s skilled craftsmanship. Each bowl displays a distinctive quadrant glaze pattern in natural hues of sand, rust, and slate blue, unified by a subtle satin sheen. The generous handles and tactile speckled clay body reflect Hanselmann’s philosophy of functional artistry rooted in the landscapes of New Mexico.
Founded in Corrales around 1970, Hanselmann Pottery became known for durable, hand-thrown tableware that balanced rustic simplicity with refined design. With the studio’s closure in 2024, early signed examples such as these have become increasingly collectible. Both bowls bear the characteristic “HP” monogram on the base, confirming their authentic studio origin.
