Hand-painted wooden wall hanging by Santa Fe folk artist Monica Sosaya Halford, signed “Monica” at the lower right. The work depicts Saint Francis of Assisi holding a dove and surrounded by animals beneath a leafy tree. The border bears the prayer, “Lord make me an instrument of thy peace / where there is hatred let me sow love.” Executed in a rustic Southwestern devotional style with warm, earthy tones and bordered arch. The verso is stamped with the artist’s Santa Fe address and fitted with a leather hanging cord.
