Description

Margaret Randle Original Oil on Canvas Panel – Mission Arches Scene, Framed

Charming original oil on canvas panel by Margaret Randle (El Paso, Texas), depicting a sunlit mission-style courtyard with arched colonnades and cascading bougainvillea. The artist captures the warmth and serenity of the Southwest through textured brushwork, warm earthen tones, and delicate floral highlights. Signed “Margaret Randle” at lower right and retaining the artist’s original studio label on the reverse listing her El Paso address.

Margaret Randle (1941–2023) was a regional Texas artist and instructor active in El Paso’s art community for many years. Known for her teaching and work in acrylic, plaster, and ceramics, her paintings reflect a deep appreciation for the architecture and landscapes of the American Southwest. This piece stands as a rare example of her oil work, combining fine detail with rustic charm.

Presented in a wood frame with linen liner and gilt inner molding—an attractive complement to the composition’s earthy palette.

Condition

Good condition overall. The painting surface is stable with bright color and no visible damage or repair. The frame displays a chip to the top left corner and minor wear consistent with age and display. No glass, as intended by design.
