Description

Early 20th C. Steamer Trunk – Oak Slats, Canvas & Key

Early 20th-century steamer trunk featuring oak slat construction, dark green textured canvas covering, and steel-reinforced corners with brass-plated hardware. The piece retains its operational latch lock and key, reflecting the robust craftsmanship characteristic of American travel trunks from the early 1900s. Riveted steel fittings and remnants of original leather straps enhance its authentic period appeal.

The interior remains lined with its original patterned paper, showing expected wear and a water stain along the base. Though the removable tray is no longer present, the trunk provides generous storage and vintage presence—well-suited for use as a blanket chest, coffee table, or display piece in a traditional or industrial-style interior.

Dimensions: 23" H x 36" W x 20" D (open height: 38 1/2").

Condition

Good overall. Finish wear, scuffing, and oxidation consistent with age. Right-side handle absent; interior with water stain at base. Leather straps incomplete; interior tray missing. Lock functional with included key.
