Turkmen Bokhara Handwoven Wool Rug — 123" x 81", 132 KPI
A finely handwoven Turkmen Bokhara rug, distinguished by its deep red field and repeating octagonal gul motifs in rich tones of black, ivory, and rust. The pattern is framed by intricate geometric borders featuring stylized rosettes and tribal guard stripes, exemplifying the traditional craftsmanship of Turkmen weavers, likely of Tekke or Yomut origin. With a density of approximately 132 knots per inch, this rug demonstrates excellent weaving precision and fine wool quality on a sturdy cotton foundation.
This substantial piece—measuring 123" by 81 1/8" (approx. 10'3" × 6'9")—offers both visual warmth and timeless elegance, suitable for formal interiors or refined modern settings.
Condition:
Good overall condition. The rug shows several small indentations and light pile compression from furniture use, along with a few minor surface irregularities and isolated wear spots as shown in supplemental images. Fringes exhibit light fray at the ends, and there is gentle fading along the outer border consistent with age. These issues are cosmetic only and do not affect structure or display. The pile remains soft and even, and the colors retain strong saturation.
