Switzer for Silvestri Handcrafted Porcelain Jester Candleholders, Set of 3

A delightfully eccentric trio of handcrafted and hand-painted porcelain jester candleholders designed by Mark Switzer for Silvestri, circa 1990s. Each figure bursts with personality—elongated, twisting forms in glossy white porcelain accented by vibrant hand-painted stripes, oversized polka-dotted bowties, and expressive faces with wide grins and playful winks. Dangling glass bead “bells” adorn their jester caps, adding movement and charm. Designed to hold a 1-inch standard taper, these imaginative figures blend sculptural artistry with lighthearted theatrical flair.

Part of Silvestri’s whimsical decorative line, these pieces capture the bold, humorous spirit characteristic of late 20th-century American design—merging collectible ceramic craft with surreal, animated form. Each is maker-marked “Switzer / Silvestri” beneath the base, with original “Handcrafted for Silvestri – Made in China” foil labels intact. Rarely found as a complete set of three, they make a captivating display ensemble.

Condition:

Good condition overall. One figure has a section of beads missing from the back of its hat; otherwise, no chips, cracks, or structural damage. Glaze remains lustrous with vivid color retention. Minor wear consistent with age and display.
