Vinca Bottle was made in 2019 when Glenn was working in Jingdezhen, China. The form was made with porcelain clay by master potter, Hua Zhao, who he first met in 2015. Glenn designed and inscribed the mishima floral motif using colored slips that he formulated during his stay. "The people of Jingdezhen speak of '72 Hands' required to make fine porcelain artworks, referencing the many skilled craftspeople who contribute to the success of an artwork. In addition to potter Hua, I was helped by a glaze master, kiln master(s), and carry-man, among countless others who prepared the clay, glaze, and colorants, each adding their own 'hands' to the work."
