1873 Arrows, 1887‑S & 1891 Seated Liberty Dimes – .900 Silver Trio
This listing includes three Seated Liberty dimes dated 1873, 1887, and 1891. Struck in 90% silver, these coins feature Christian Gobrecht’s classic design of Liberty seated with a shield and staff on the obverse, and a wreath encircling the denomination “ONE DIME” on the reverse.
The 1873 issue displays arrows at the date, signifying a change in weight mandated by the Mint Act of 1873. This variety was produced for only two years and is considered a distinct subtype. The 1887 coin bears the “S” mintmark for San Francisco, while the 1891 example—struck at the Philadelphia Mint—represents the final year of the Seated Liberty dime series. Together, these coins offer both historical and type-collecting appeal.
