Description

(32) 1948–1962 Franklin Silver Half Dollar Collection

This collection presents a complete run of 32 Franklin Half Dollars spanning 1948 through 1962, with examples from the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco Mints, securely housed in a Whitman album. Designed by John R. Sinnock, the obverse features Benjamin Franklin’s dignified portrait, while the reverse depicts the Liberty Bell flanked by a small eagle.

For numismatists, the set captures the full production history of the Franklin series, including lower-mintage issues such as the 1949-S, 1953, and 1955. For bullion-minded buyers, each coin is struck in 90% silver, containing 0.36169 troy ounces of pure silver. With 32 pieces in total, the collection represents approximately 11.57 troy ounces of silver. This dual appeal makes the lot equally attractive as a historical numismatic set and as a tangible investment in precious metal.
