Exceptional Navajo sterling silver cuff bracelet, signed by master silversmith RW James. Known for his substantial silverwork and use of high-grade natural turquoise, James produced bold, collectible pieces from the 1970s onward.
This cuff features eleven natural turquoise cabochons, exhibiting vibrant blue color with distinctive dark matrix, consistent with Kingman turquoise. The stones, ranging from approximately 20.25 mm x 12.85 mm to 10.83 mm x 7.02 mm, are expertly set in hand-cut serrated bezels. Surrounding silverwork includes twisted wire borders, applied drops, and finely executed stamp designs, demonstrating both technical precision and traditional Navajo artistry. At 197.5 grams, the bracelet is impressively heavy, with a balanced form that highlights both the stones and the silversmith’s meticulous detail.
Signed “RW James” on the interior. A rare, large-scale example of his independent work, and a significant statement piece for collectors of Native American jewelry.
