The obverse bears Arnold Machin’s effigy of Queen Elizabeth II with the inscription ELIZABETH II D·G·REGINA. The reverse, by Thomas Shingles, depicts the Library of Parliament with the dual dates 1876–1976. Struck in sterling silver, this issue was produced with a prooflike finish, showing mirrored fields and frosted details when fresh.
