This Navajo cuff bracelet is set with five exceptional cabochons of #8 turquoise, celebrated for its rich blue color interlaced with delicate golden-brown to black spiderweb matrix. The center stone measures 12.70 x 8.05 mm, framed by four side stones averaging 9.8 mm in circumference. Each is secured in hand-cut serrated bezels, bordered with twisted silver rope and accented with applied drops, all supported by a sturdy double-shank design. The bracelet weighs 40.19 grams, giving it a substantial yet balanced presence.
Mined near Carlin, Nevada, the #8 turquoise deposit closed in 1976, making its stones highly collectible. Known for producing some of the finest spiderweb turquoise ever discovered, #8 is prized among collectors for its beauty and scarcity. This cuff, likely mid-20th century in origin, is a fine example of Navajo craftsmanship at a time when turquoise of this quality was more readily available.
