Description

Uncut 16-Note $50 Sheet — Series 2004A Star Notes, Chicago G7 District

An impressive uncut sheet of sixteen Series 2004A $50 Federal Reserve Notes, issued by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP). Each note features the portrait of Ulysses S. Grant on the obverse and the U.S. Capitol on the reverse, with vibrant colorized design elements introduced in the early 2000s. This example originates from the Chicago District (G7), with serial numbers in the EG 067xxxx–070xxxx range, and consists entirely of star notes (“*”), the replacement notes that were printed in smaller runs and set aside for BEP collectible sheets.

Large-format $50 sheets are considerably scarcer than their lower-denomination counterparts, and star-designated examples are even more desirable to collectors. The 2004A issue, signed by Treasurer Anna Escobedo Cabral and Treasury Secretary John W. Snow, marked a transitional period in U.S. currency design, combining traditional engraving with subtle color security features. With bold ink, sharp detail, and the dramatic display of sixteen aligned notes, this sheet offers both rarity and strong visual presence.

Condition

The sheet is in excellent uncirculated condition, with crisp paper, sharp corners, and intact borders. No folds, stains, or handling wear are visible. If housed in a protective acrylic display holder, the holder may show minor surface scratches, but the sheet itself remains unaffected and can be removed for archival storage or custom framing.

Dimensions

Sheet: approximately 21 x 18 inches.
