Description

Acoma Pueblo Polychrome Pottery Jar – Geometric Design, ca. Mid-20th Century
An Acoma Pueblo polychrome pottery jar, hand-coiled and hand-painted in bold geometric motifs of black and orange over a white slip. The rounded form with a broad shoulder and tapering base is decorated with interlocking triangles, zigzags, and scrollwork, creating a strong sense of rhythm and balance. The underside is marked “Acoma,” affirming its Pueblo origin.

Dating to the mid-20th century, this vessel represents the enduring traditions of Acoma potters, known for their thin-walled construction and dynamic painted designs. An appealing addition for collectors of Native American and Southwestern art, this jar combines cultural heritage with strong visual impact.
