Description

Warren Vienneau Signed Burl Wood Bud Vase, 1994

A finely crafted burl wood bud vase by Warren Vienneau, signed and dated 1994 on the underside. The piece presents the natural drama of burl with richly figured grain and swirling eyes across its polished face, offset by an untouched bark edge. The shallow, circular form features a discreet opening for a single stem, balancing functionality with sculptural presence.

Warren Vienneau, a Massachusetts-based studio woodturner, has produced one-of-a-kind vessels under the name Turned Works since 1980. Known for blending smooth lathe-turned surfaces with natural edges, his process highlights the inherent figure and texture of each burl. A member of the Berkshire Woodworkers Guild, Vienneau has exhibited widely at juried New England craft shows such as the Paradise City Arts Festivals, with his work represented in U.S. and international galleries. His signed pieces have appeared at auction with results up to $275, confirming steady collector interest in his unique vessels.

Condition:
Good condition with no damage. Natural inclusions and variations are inherent to burl wood and intentionally showcased in the design.
