Percy Hague Jowett (1882–1955), “A Cotswold Landscape,” signed watercolor
A serene watercolor landscape titled “A Cotswold Landscape” by Percy Hague Jowett (1882–1955), signed lower left. The composition captures the sweeping trees and rolling hills of the English countryside, executed in delicate washes of gray, green, and soft pastel tones. Jowett’s assured brushwork conveys both atmosphere and movement, making this a fine example of his landscape style. The piece is presented in a gilt wood frame with red undertones, matted in dark gray for an elegant display.
The Cotswolds, famed for their pastoral beauty, have long been a source of inspiration for artists, and Jowett’s treatment reflects his ability to blend structure with a lyrical sense of place. This signed work will appeal to collectors of British landscapes and 20th-century watercolors.
