French Louis XVI-Style Walnut Nightstand w/ Marble Top, 19th C.
Charming late 19th-century French Louis XVI-style nightstand in walnut, topped with a removable 18 lb gray marble slab (7/8" thick). The cabinet features a single dovetailed drawer above a paneled door, both hand-carved with floral and ribbon motifs, and rests on turned feet. The raised backboard is richly carved in neoclassical taste, making this a functional yet decorative piece.
Compact in scale yet full of character, this versatile chevet is ideal for bedside use or as a decorative accent in any traditional or eclectic interior.
Condition:
Good overall condition with age-appropriate wear. The finish shows scratches, small chips, and areas of surface loss. Minor imperfections to the marble edge, visible only on close inspection. Interior shelving shows staining and one warped base shelf. A stable repair is present to a rear leg, not affecting use. Structurally sound and ready for continued use.
