Description

Pair of Eagle Oil Lamps – Embossed Glass, P&A Danbury Burners, 19"

Pair of vintage oil lamps with clear embossed glass bases, textured amber-tone fonts, and tall clear glass chimneys. Each lamp is fitted with brass burners marked Eagle and wick controls stamped P&A Mfg. Co., Danbury, Conn., USA. These markings trace to the Plume & Atwood Manufacturing Company, a leading American lighting maker founded in the 19th century. By the late 1950s, production had shifted to Risdon Manufacturing in Danbury, which continued producing P&A burners into the early 1960s.

This pair represents mid-20th-century American kerosene lamp design, blending decorative pressed-glass craftsmanship with functional utility. With their warm amber fonts and ornate molded bases, they are equally suited for display or for use once properly prepared. Collectors of lighting and Americana will find them a fine addition to any collection.

Condition:
Good overall, with age-appropriate wear and signs of use. No damage noted to glass or hardware. Brass shows natural patina consistent with age.

Dimensions:
With chimney: 19" high x 6" diameter
