King Cleveland Silver-Plated Flute with Case, Serial #38270, ca. 1947–49
A vintage King Cleveland flute, serial number 38270, dating to approximately 1947–1949. Produced under the H.N. White Company of Cleveland, Ohio, this silver-plated flute reflects the durable craftsmanship and classic design for which King instruments were renowned. The barrel is engraved with the King crown logo above “CLEVELAND,” and the flute features closed-hole keys with offset G, designed for student and intermediate players of the post-war era.
King Cleveland instruments of this period are sought after for their historical connection to mid-20th century American band programs, combining solid playability with collectible appeal. Offered with its original hard case, lined in blue velvet, this flute represents a fine example of post-war Cleveland instrument production.
