Bose 2.2 Direct-Reflecting Bookshelf Speakers — Walnut, Late 1980s
A vintage pair of Bose 2.2 Direct/Reflecting bookshelf speakers, produced circa 1988–1992, crafted in angled simulated walnut-veneer cabinets and clearly designated left and right for true stereo playback. The 2.2 design incorporates a 6½″ woofer and 2″ fluid-cooled tweeter, with slot-port bass tuning and Bose’s acoustic reflection approach for a spacious, room-filling sound. Compact yet powerful, they embody the late-1980s Bose philosophy of delivering an engaging and listener-friendly audio experience.
These speakers remain popular among collectors and enthusiasts for their warm tonal character and distinctive angled form. Compact enough for bookshelf placement yet capable of strong stereo imaging, they are an excellent choice for vintage hi-fi setups or as a collectible audio accent.
Condition
Good overall condition. Fully functional and tested, with no damage. Came from a working environment. Light surface wear consistent with age, but veneer and components remain intact and present well.
