Navajo Two Grey Hills Rug — Handwoven Wool, 46.5" x 32.5"
A finely handwoven Navajo Two Grey Hills rug. Crafted from handspun wool, it features the hallmark palette of natural greys, ivory, and black—achieved without dyes, but through careful selection of the sheep’s fleece. The design is anchored by stepped diamond motifs and serrated geometrics, framed within a strong border that gives the composition both balance and movement.
Woven in the renowned Two Grey Hills/Toadlena area of northwestern New Mexico, this textile reflects a lineage of weaving that has produced some of the most accomplished Navajo artists of the 20th century, including Daisy Taugelchee and Bessie Manygoats. The rug’s tight, consistent weave and clarity of line are characteristic of the tradition, where superior workmanship has long been prized by collectors. Measuring 46.5 x 32.5 inches, it is an ideal size for wall display, table presentation, or as a distinctive accent.
Condition:
Good condition with no moth damage and no odors. A few faint stains are visible upon close inspection but do not detract from the overall presentation. The weave remains strong, and the wool retains its natural clarity of tone.
