Antique Belgian Armoire with Carved Pediment & Mirror, 72.5" H
This antique Belgian armoire, likely mid-20th century, is finely crafted in solid wood and designed with both function and decorative appeal. The two-door form is topped by a shaped pediment and accented with carved scrollwork panels, resting on short scrolling feet. Inside, the cabinet has been fitted with six fixed shelves, offering divided storage with varying heights (9", 7.5", 14", 16", and 21.5"), suitable for clothing, linens, or collectibles.
One door retains its original mirrored panel, marked “Mirox – Made in Belgium”—a sign of quality glass production widely used in European cabinetry of the era. Combining traditional Belgian design with practical storage, this armoire makes an impressive addition to any interior.
Condition
Fair condition, showing scratches, scuffing, finish wear/loss, and splits consistent with age. Handles and lock mechanisms are absent, and the shelves are later replacements. Reinforced at the top for stability. Mirror surface shows wear and oxidation. Evidence of old restoration is present, and the piece is ready for further restoration if desired. Structurally stable and usable as-is.
