Presented is Flankers, a Press Proof offset lithograph by acclaimed Western artist Robert “Shoofly” Shufelt. In Shufelt’s signature, finely rendered pencil style, this work captures a vivid moment of cowboy life—two ranch hands flanking a calf in a corral while a third looks on from horseback. This edition is pencil-signed in the lower right, bears Shufelt’s embossed “Shoofly” seal, and includes original documentation with matching seal. The reverse of the frame features a personalized inscription signed by Bob and Julie Shufelt, adding unique provenance. Artist Biography:
Robert “Shoofly” Shufelt (b. 1935) is widely regarded as one of America’s foremost chroniclers of modern cowboy life. A graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Shufelt left a career in commercial illustration to live and work on a cattle ranch in Arizona. His graphite drawings and their limited-edition lithographic prints are renowned for their authenticity, detail, and ability to capture the grit, camaraderie, and timeless traditions of the American West. His honors include the Great American Cowboy Award (2005) and New Mexico Artist of the Year (2007), and his work is held in both private and institutional collections worldwide.
