Franciscan Apple Pattern 9‑pc Set — Made in California, Excellent
This charming 9-piece Franciscan Apple ceramic dinnerware set was produced in California by Gladding, McBean & Co. The Apple pattern, introduced in 1940, became one of the brand’s most iconic and enduring lines. Featuring bold, hand-painted apples, leafy green foliage, and wood-textured handles, each piece is finished in a warm ivory glaze.
Designed by Mary K. Grant, this pattern reflects the rustic charm and craftsmanship of mid-century American ceramics. The set includes a variety of serving and tabletop pieces—ideal for display or everyday use.
Included:
- Sugar bowl
- Salt & pepper shakers
- Gravy boat with attached underplate
- Divided serving dish
- (2) Lidded individual casseroles
- (2) Small bowls
Each piece is marked “Franciscan / Made in California,” indicating it was produced prior to the company’s acquisition by Wedgwood in 1979.
Condition:
In excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or visible damage. The glaze remains glossy, and the hand-painted decoration is vibrant and intact. A remarkably well-kept vintage set.
