Kanawha Amberina Hobnail Jack-in-the-Pulpit Basket Bowl
Vibrant amberina art glass basket bowl featuring a bold hobnail texture and dramatic jack-in-the-pulpit form. The coloration transitions from deep red at the rim to golden yellow at the base, with a clear-to-amber applied handle adding function and flair. The asymmetrical, upward-flaring rim gives the piece its sculptural, organic character.
This piece is attributed to Kanawha Glass Company of Dunbar, West Virginia, active from 1953 to 1987. Known for their colorful hand-blown designs, Kanawha frequently produced hobnail amberina baskets with applied handles and freeform rims like this one. Likely made between the 1960s–70s, it exemplifies the studio-style American glass of the era.
Condition:
Excellent condition with no damage. The surface is glossy, the handle is securely attached, and the vibrant amberina gradient remains strong. Please review photos for full detail.
